  one time, i heard a father in a meeting with married couples say `i sometimes have to smack my children a bit, but never in the face so as to not humiliate them.how beautiful!

  he knows the sense of dignity!

  he has to punish them but does it justly and moves on.

  context is important in understanding anything especially with regards to conflicts.

  islam and the conflict in iraq requires knowledge of at least four different parties with a general understanding of their ideology.. islam was founded around 622 c.e.

  They would basically live where they were until their dislocation. The Yazidis, as I mentioned, are ethnic Kurds so they would live in 'Kurdistan'. The Christians, to my knowledge live mostly in northern Iraq In, I believe, in mostly Kurdish territory. I don't think, though I'm not sure, that the Kurds would persecute them. Christians and Yazidis were mostly left alone until ISIS came along.

  Christians number about 1.5 million in Iraq. Yazidis number about 500,000 - 700,000. Arming and guiding them with backup support should be helpful in reclaiming their own territory. I don't think that a sovereign state would be necessary for either one. The Yazidi are ethnic Kurds.

  The Kurds are few in number and don't have the manpower to do everything that is necessary to choke of ISIS including guarding those oil fields which give them 1-3 million dollars a day worth of funding. A relatively large number of troops would also be needed, temporarily, to guard the borders through which ISIS smuggle supplies in and sell oil out. 

  We would only have to be there for less than a year as they mop up the last remnants of ISIS.

  I remember that the teaching, in the 1970s, went something like this. 

  • The UN would turn against Babylon the Great (all religions).
  • The Jehovah's Witnesses would be temporarily spared.
  • The UN would finally notice the JWs and turn on them.
  • Armageddon would be the culmination of the Great Tribulation as Jesus and company go to the rescue of the JWs before they get destroyed.

  Gave my first hour talk sunday before last

  i started going door to door at age 5 and was giving no.

  2 talks by age 7. during the 8 years i was an active adult jw i was never a ms or elder (although i was a regular pioneer once).

  so, i never qualified to give an hour talk.

  there were these two couples at our dinner table that were having an all out pissing competition as to who was the most spiritual.

  they were comparing who was in "the truth" the longest, who pioneered where and for how long.

  We could be the facilitators. They really need boots on the ground to cut off ISIS access to oil fields and to give the Kurds backup support such as surrounding towns to keep ISIS from getting weapons. The Kurds simply don't have the man power to do everything by themselves.
